Intro To Snow Climbing
1 Day
First The Ice Axe
Symbolic of mountaineering, the ice axe is also its most versatile tool. You will learn to use your axe for self-belay and arrest, kick steps efficiently, handle the rope in a variety of snow belays, glissade and are introduced to cramponing.
The skills gained from this day can extend the season of the trail walker from spring through autumn, give confidence to the ski mountaineer when skis come off or set a solid foundation for the aspiring mountaineer. This popular beginner's course is informative and festive.

"I just wanted to say that this weekend was incredible. I feel that even though I was an experienced climber at one point, this course as a refresher was worth every penny and that Paul is truly one of the best guides/instructors I have had the pleasure to work with."
