Learn To Lead   Step 5      1 Day

We have designed a progression to ease you safely onto the sharp end of the rope. We practice placement of protection, then rehearse an easy pitch. Finally, you are placing your own protection in the simulation of a lead, but still protected by a top-rope.

You learn about route finding, reducing rope drag, placing protection for the second, and setting up a good belay at the end of your lead. This course helps you get on the way to climbing safely on your own. Previous experience following 5.7 is a prerequisite.

Climber's Self Rescue   Step 6      1 Day

What would you do if you were several pitches off the ground and your partner took a serious leader fall and got hurt? Would you be prepared to handle the situation? These one-day workshops are for experienced climbers wanting to learn improvised self-rescue techniques with just the gear you normally take along on a climb.

You'll study the best anchoring methods, along with raising and lowering systems for a one-on-one situation. This is a must for all climbers!
