The Palisades
Mt. Sill to Thunderbolt Peak Traverse, V 5.6    4 Day

ASI is the only existing guide service that has guided the entire Palisade Traverse in 2 sections, one from South Fork Pass to Mt. Sill and the second from Mt. Sill via the Swiss Arête start to Jigsaw Pass. Much of the route was done onsight in alpine style without pre-placed food and fuel caches, yet still with tiny bivy packs.

Mt. Sill to Thunderbolt is the 5-star section of the entire Palisades Traverse. From Mt. Sill, it crosses to Polemonium Peak, North Palisade, Starlight Peak, then the summit of Thunderbolt. It can be done in 3, preferrably 4 days with one light bivouac near the summit of North Palisade. This is also the best and most efficient way to climb 5 of the most difficult 14,000' peaks in one climb.

The route can be (arguably) equally interesting in either direction. We prefer Mt. Sill to Thunderbolt as it provides more quality rock climbing pitches at the 5.6 standard, especially if the Swiss Arête start is included.
