First Aid Courses - Open To The Public


Wilderness First Aid - WFA & CPR
This entry level, 2-day (18 hour) course is appropriate for anyone involved in wilderness activities.

Wilderness First Responder - WFR
This is a 7-day course for wilderness professionals, guides, group leaders and others including recreational skiers and climbers who want a higher level of training or require WFR certification.

WFR/CPR Refresher
WFR/CPR Refreshers are offered concurrently with the final two days of each WFR course.




Ski Guide & Instructor Courses


Ski Improvement for Mountain Guides
Bela and master freeride skier, Eric DesLauriers will provide a special course for professional Mountain Guides looking to improve thier skiing standard to meet AMGA Ski Mountaineering Guide Certification requirements.

Date: Feb 2-4, 2010
Cost: $450 (Does not include Sugar Bowl lift pass)
         $595 (Includes Sugar Bowl lift pass)



Ski Guide Pre Course
This course is designed for recreational leaders or skiers or boarders aspiring to enter the AMGA Ski Guide Course, who may not yet meet the prerequisites. It's also a great head start to help set you up for success toward your AMGA Ski Mountaineering Guide Certification Exam.

Date: Feb 1-4, 2010
Cost: $600 (Plus 1-day lift pass)



AMGA Out-Of-Bounds Ski Instructor
This AMGA training and certification program has been created for PSIA and AASI Level III Certified Ski Instructors to guide advanced skiers outside the boundary of the ski area.

Date: Mar 15-19, 2010
Cost: $895



AMGA Contract Ski Guide Course
Bela Vadasz has teamed up with Howie Schwartz, the two AMGA Ski Guide Discipline Coordinators and the two most experienced instructors to teach a special course here in the Sierra. The first 4 days will be held at Donner Pass then the remaining 8 in the Eastern Sierra. www.amga.com
